Going Negative

Back already with another Comic Master clique list. This time the boys threw a little venom at the books that did us wrong.

John’s Top Ten Worst Comics of the Decade (2000-2009)

1) Brian Bendis’Avengers (the Earth’s Mightiest Coach Potatoes take on a stray Skrull or two- when they’re not watching the tube)

2) JMS’ Amazing-Spider-Man (Peter’s a totem, Gwen's a tramp, and Doom sheds tears)

3) Bruce Jones’ Nightwing (Dick Grayson male model)

4) Final Crisis (When bad peyote puts a company crossover into the toilet)

5) All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder (the only late book you pray will never ship)

6) Dark Knight Strikes Again (Frank Miller goes bat-crap crazy)

7) Chuck Austen’s X-Men (that’s X-Men Chuck, not Sex-Men)

8) Marville (how could you go wrong with Ted Turner, racist Iron Man, creationism, and submission guidelines to failed line expansions)

9) The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive (Bart Allen grows up, and gets a swift death)

10) The Truth: Red, White, and Black (a cynical slap in the face to Simon & Kirby. Just because they were Jewish, fought in World War Two, and created Captain America- doesn’t mean they knew THE TRUTH behind his origin)

2) All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder

8) Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do

1) Anything By Grant Morrison

2) All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder

3) Dark Knight Strikes Again

4) Bruce Jones’ Nightwing

5) Batman R.I.P. (this stands apart from the rest of Morrison’s work)

6) The Entire One Year Later Concept from DC

7) Titans (the current series)

8) Teen Titans (post Geoff Johns)

9) X-Force (Liefeld mini)

10) All Things X-Men

Dom’s Top Ten Worst Comics of the Decade (2000-2009)

1) Bruce Jones’ Nightwing

2) Justice Society of America (post Geoff Johns)

3) Teen Titans (post Geoff Johns)

4) Dark Knight Strikes Again

5) The Flash (post Geoff Johns)

6) Spider-Man: Reign

7) Grant Morrison’s Batman

8) Brian Bendis’ Daredevil

9) All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder

Once again, many books made it on more than one list. Our combined bottom of the barrel five were:

5) JMS’ Amazing Spider-Man
